10th day of May 2007
Earlier today, an 1937 Austin 7 Ruby brought the southbound lane of the Tay Road Bridge to a stand still. All three tolls were closed and the barriers were down to stop any traffic crossing the bridge. Mean while the driver attempted to fix the broken down Austin 7.
It was discovered that the fuel bowl of the carburetor had worked it's self loose causing the carburetor to flood and also allowing petrol to spill over and down the engine very close to the exhaust manifold.
After a few minutes the Austin 7 was again on it's way with a wee cheer from the toll booths, the barriers were openned and the traffic was allowed to cross the bridge.
Just an other day driving an Austin 7, how much fun we have........
